Pepe Le Pew is a skunk that presented with disc herniation. We were able to help by strengthening his back and hind end along with helping his pain control to get him up and moving like a skunk should. He was one of our most exotic rehab patients. He went from dragging his back legs to running around with his other house dogs.
Gabe had his from leg amputated due to osteosarcoma. The owner wanted to keep his other 3 legs strong and prevent overcompensating, so we continue maintenance rehab and boy does he love it.
Zena suffered from an FCE, which is like a stroke to her the spine. For her rehab, we did a lot of sensory/ proprioception work to the affected limbs along with underwater treadmill to help with re-teaching the nerves that were affected. Zena is an avid dock diver, so we worked hard to get her back on the dock.
Boadie went chasing after a cat and suffered a herniated disc. The owners went to OSU to perform a hemilaminectomy surgery to help him walk again. We medically boarded him for supportive care for 2 weeks while we performed rehab daily to help strengthen him. He has now been coming to rehab for weekly maintenance for over 2 years. He did great with proprioception, neuro developments, strengthening and coordination exercises along with under water treadmill. Now he is walking on his own. We love his weekly visits with us!
Cooper came to us with a weak back end resulting in lumbar stenosis. He continually comes to see us for helping strengthen his back legs to keep his quality of life at the fullest. He also receives laser therapy and acupuncture treatments. We just recently fitted him for a cart so he can continue to do his favorite thing: go on walks.
Fiona is a cat that came to us after an ACL (CCL) repair and for weight loss. With her weight loss program and strengthening in the underwater treadmill, she is now living her best life.
Chester came to us after he had an ACL (CCL) repair. He did great with treats and loved going on all our equipment to help him strengthen his core, back end and not develop compensatory patterns. He is the happiest boy.
Bert is a 3 year old French Bulldog who has already had one back surgery when he was 1 ½. He presented to us again just recently not walking at all due to another disc herniation. For his rehab, we did multiple rounds of sensory/ proprioception work to the affected limbs along with underwater treadmill to help re-teach him how to walk. We also used laser and other pain control modalities to get the inflammation in his back under control. He is now back to running around like a puppy!
Link is an 8-month-old German Shepherd that came to us after he had broken his fibula from playing ball in the backyard. Once his bone was healed, we got to start him in rehab to help him re-gain his confidence in using that leg again. He had a great time in rehab and was able to regain full function of that leg.
Izzy came to us for decreased use of right back leg, and performed a PRP injection to help the joint regenerate and avoid a CCL surgery. She recently did another PRP injection in the left stifle for the same injury. She did awesome with strengthening of both her back legs to help avoid surgery and further injury.
Earl presented with limping in the front left leg for a few months. We discovered he had hip dysplasia and was overcompensating in the front leg. Once we got his pain under control and addressed his hips, we then worked on some weight loss. Earl is currently down 12 lbs and is not limping anymore. He does great with his strengthening exercises, especially his sit to stands.
Cabo came to us after an ACL (CCL) repair. He was happy to work on strengthening his back end with land and water exercises. He was obsessed with peanut butter and would never let us forget it.
