Skilled, highly experienced pet surgeons

Knowing that your pet needs surgery can be very stressful. Our staff at Perrysburg Animal Hospital can put your mind at ease by providing the best care for your pet before, during and after their surgery.
Surgery can prevent further, more serious health issues from occurring later on. A pet that is sick and uncomfortable should return to their happy, healthy normal state after surgery. Negative behaviors can also lessen or diminish entirely.
Do not feed your pet before their surgery unless you were instructed to do so. If your pet is on any medications, please let us know prior to the surgery, since they may need to stop taking them beforehand.
Once your pet's surgery is complete, they will be monitored closely to make sure they are safely recovering. Your pet may even be able to go home with you on the same day, based on the type of procedure.
When your pet gets home, make sure they get plenty of rest. Physical movement should be limited so their incisions from the surgery heal properly. Post-surgery medications can be given to reduce infection. We may also recommend you change your pet's diet for a while until they've completely recovered.
At Perrysburg Animal Hospital, we do administer anesthesia during surgery to keep your pet and our staff safe while surgery is being performed. With your pet under anesthesia, our surgeons can safely perform to the best of their ability.
Our anesthesiologist will closely monitor your pet while they are under to make sure they are safe. Most anesthesia is given intravenously, and vital signs will be monitored before, during and after surgery for their safety and comfort.
Make an appointment at Perrysburg Animal Hospital by calling (419) 874-8974. Please bring any medications with you along with your pet's complete medical and health history. We will perform a physical to make sure your pet is well enough for surgery, along with X-rays, if necessary.
Once a diagnosis is made, we will recommend and schedule your pet's surgery. You will be as informed as possible to make sure you are comfortable and know your pet is in safe hands. If you have any questions, please contact our office.
